Karnataka Chief Minister Greenlights Rs 17,835.9 Crore Investment Boost
On Friday, the 63rd State High-Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC), chaired by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, granted approval to six new projects and endorsed eight additional investment proposals totaling Rs 17,835.9 crore. These initiatives have the potential to generate 27,000 jobs throughout the state, as per official statements.
The SHLCC greenlit six new projects valued at Rs 8,220.05 crore, along with eight supplementary investment projects amounting to Rs 9,615.85 crore, as announced by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
The 63rd SHLCC meeting took place at the Chief Minister’s official residence, “Krishna.”
Among the approved projects, Wistron’s proposal to invest Rs 2,095 crore received the committee’s endorsement, with the potential to create jobs for at least 21,723 individuals in the state.
Other significant proposals that gained government approval include Air India Limited (Rs 1,750 crore investment), STT Global Data Centres India Private Limited (Rs 1,352.3 crore investment), Indian Cane Power Limited (Rs 1,078 crore investment), and ICT Service Management Solutions (India) Private Limited (Rs 1,450 crore investment).
The districts of Vijayapura, Kalaburagi, Bellary, and Belagavi in North Karnataka are expected to attract new and additional investments totaling Rs 10,433.72 crore.
Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, M.B. Patil, and IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge were also in attendance during the SHLCC meeting.
